Perhaps just of a place and time, but I like it - I recommend this record, not just as an echo of my Wonder years of punk clubbing and musically-sophisticated roommates, but for its genuine fusion (not that kind) of punk sensibility with jazz and blues moods. Herman Brood showed a lot of versatility on this record. He moves among styles with expert fluidity, while carrying consistent, great-sounding horn and backing vocal arrangements.Sad to see I will have to make do with the vinyl, or stay with my surprisingly good-sounding 1979 home tape, as a CD of this master does not seem to exist.
